Term Life For Older Seniors
Before you assume that only people can only buy whole life, make sure you have shopped the market. Many older people can still get great deals on term life for older people! It may be difficult for a seventy-two year old to find a thirty year term policy. But there are still plenty of companies that are eager to sell ten year policies to fairly healthy people (for their age). I have seen companies that offer policies up to age 75.
In fact, some brokers specialize in the senior market. So you may try shopping online, but if that doesn’t help you, look for a local insurance agent who specializes in finding term life for older clients.
There is also no doubt that term is a good deal. Since you are only paying for the insurance, and not any savings, rates should be lower when compared to other kinds of life policies. You must keep in mind, though, that the policy will expire after the term, and it may be tough or expensive to renew it!
Term may not be the right solution for you, so it is a good idea to examine your own needs, your budget, and then shop the market. But you can certainly find life insurance for older people from many of the top companies.
